giveinterview vs Pramp
Pramp and giveinterview both exist so you can rehearse a technical interview before the real one. They differ in who sits on the other side: a peer you are matched with, or an AI interviewer that is available whenever you are.
How is giveinterview different from Pramp?
Pramp pairs you with another candidate for a live practice session in which you interview each other, and its site says new sessions run on Aced Practice and are free. giveinterview uses an AI interviewer available at any time, with a live code editor and a scored report.
| giveinterview | Pramp (Aced Practice) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who interviews you | An AI interviewer that speaks, reads your code and asks follow-ups | Another candidate: you and your peer interview each other |
| Scheduling | Start whenever you like; no matching or waiting | Sessions are matched by availability, experience and topics |
| Format | An AI interviewer with a live code editor: voice in role interviews, text chat or voice in single-question practice | Live video with a collaborative editor, 30 to 45 minutes |
| Feedback | A scored report by stage (approach, code, cross-questions); every report is free | Feedback from your peer after the session |
| Price | First 3 single-question interviews free for life; then 1 credit each, credits do not expire | Described on its site as free; new sessions are hosted on Aced Practice |
What peer practice gives you
Practising with a person is the closest thing to a real interview with a stranger, and interviewing someone else teaches you what interviewers look for. The cost is coordination: you need a partner who is free when you are, at a similar level, and willing to give honest feedback.
What an AI interviewer gives you
An AI interviewer removes the scheduling. You can practise at midnight, repeat the same problem after fixing a mistake, and get the same structured scoring each time. It cannot replace the unpredictability of a human, so use it to build volume and consistency.
Many people use both: an AI interviewer for frequent practice, a peer or a mentor for the occasional realism check. Your first 3 single-question interviews are free for life, every interview report is free, and a new account also gets 6 welcome credits.
Which should you choose?
Choose peer practice if you want a human conversation and can schedule it. Choose an AI interviewer if you want unlimited, instant sessions with a consistent scorecard. If you are short on time before a round, instant sessions usually win.
